Traceable Wins 2022 TMCnet Zero Trust Security Excellence Award

Traceable has won another award! This time, we’re being recognized for our efforts toward Zero Trust Security, and we couldn’t be more proud of this accomplishment!

“It gives me great pleasure to honor the recipients of the TMCnet Zero Trust Security Excellence Award,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “The award recognizes solutions providers championing the ‘Trust nothing, verify everything’ mantra of a Zero Trust approach to security at a time when businesses are facing more complex and frequent threats than ever. The TMCnet Team is thoroughly impressed and congratulates the recipients.”

The 2022 TMCnet Zero Trust Security Excellence Award will be highlighted on TMCnet news portal.

Traceable is named among other winners of this Zero Trust Award, including Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, Vmware, and more.

“We are honored to receive this award and the endorsement from TMCnet that Zero Trust security models need to extend beyond the user and the device layer to include the application, data, and integration layers,” said Sanjay Nagaraj, Chief Technology Officer at Traceable. “The tremendous amount of new attack surfaces exposed by the adoption of APIs makes it imperative for every organization to include APIs in their Zero Trust philosophies and practices.”

Traceable’s API Security Platform provides intelligent API security at enterprise scale by discovering, testing and protecting every API in the organization and the ability for their teams to perform threat hunting and forensic research around API-based security attacks.

Traceable’s Platform continuously provides a comprehensive 360-degree view and deep intelligence of all APIs to effectively control the security of attack surfaces honing in on four main areas of API threat protection:

  1. API Discovery and Governance: Traceable’s API catalog is automatic and provides continuous API discovery, allowing for comprehensive visibility into all APIs, sensitive data flows and risk posture – even as the environment changes.
  2. API Security Testing: Enables any API in pre-production to be tested for vulnerabilities, accuracy, reliability and overall security before releasing APIs into production. It supports organizations’ shift left initiatives, including providing remediation insights from runtime back to development, to further harden APIs.
  3. API Threat Protection: An API protection component automatically detects and stops known and unknown API attacks and business logic abuse attacks, as well as API abuse, fraud and sensitive data exfiltration.
  4. Threat Hunting: Provides a rich set of security and application flow analytics in a data lake, which can be used by security analysts to hunt for hidden indicators of compromise.

API Security and Zero Trust

Traceable reinforces the fact that companies cannot have Zero Trust without API security as a vast majority of sensitive data is transmitted via APIs.

The enduring success of Zero Trust is due to its flexibility, focus, and ability to deliver results. Zero Trust architectures use multiple security layers and technologies, such as network and identity access management and user, application, and workload security to protect enterprise assets. These models “trust no one,” assuming adversaries are already present or able to access different parts of the application and infrastructure stack. As a result, systems continuously verify users, devices, and access attempts.

However, to date, APIs have been largely neglected by Zero Trust models. In addition, digital transformation demands and DevSecOps processes at organizations have created new gaps and vulnerabilities attackers can exploit.

Expanding Zero Trust security concepts to the API interface and implementation layers ensures that communication services get the same protection afforded to other resources.

Traceable is offering a free webinar on Zero Trust API Access next month. We encourage you to join the conversation, and learn more about how we’re bringing API security to Zero Trust.
